I’m back with another fashion post. It’s in collaboration with DATE THE RAMP. I’m gonna share my experience with Date the ramp.
Who doesn’t like designer outfits? But to buy one, you have to spend a fortune. With Date the ramp, wearing designer outfits and jewellery has become easier. Your designer dress is now just a click away. Date the ramp is the online rental portal where you can rent your favourite designer wear at minimal cost. Isn’t that amazing?
Most of us are still not comfortable with an idea of renting outfits. Here’s my take on take on renting outfits….. I like to have my own outfits and like reusing them by styling in different ways. But I feel renting is also a good option specially when you are not gonna use a particular dress more than once and specially if it’s exorbitantly expensive. In that case it completely makes sense renting a particular outfit and returning back once you are done. And in this era of sustainable fashion, renting an outfit is a right step towards sustainability.
So, coming back to Date the ramp! It’s an online rental portal where there are amazing dresses and accessories designed by well known designers like Ritu kumar, J J Valaya, Shantanu and Nikhil and others….. They have a wide range of options from sarees to Indian outfits to western outfits, Casual wear to party wear, jewellery, clutches. They even have multi designer outfits and accessories sets which are already curated by their stylists. If you are not sure about what accessories to wear with your outfit, you can go for multidesigner sets.
These are available at minimal cost plus a security deposit which is returned back. All you have to do is register yourself and order your outfit. They have various sizes. But in wedding season, prebook your outfits well in advance. Select your size. Then fill in the delivery and return date. They let you keep your outfits for 4 days and if you want to keep it for more days, you can keep it at extra cost. After you prebook an outfit, their stylist gets in touch with you to help you with alterations, styling etc. by your preferred mode of communication ie. Phone call, What’s app, Facebook, Instagram dm etc. They even send you smaller or bigger size or another similar outfit or extra outfit of your choice if you are confused. You can try those outfits and decide when you receive the parcel and return the outfits which you don’t want at the same time.
I wanted something special for my wedding anniversary. We stayed at RAAS devigarh near Udaipur. It’s an old palace restored and converted to a luxury hotel. Since it was a palace, I wanted something traditional like lehenga. So I booked a maroon ‘J J Valaya’ lehenga and beautiful ‘Johara jewels’ pearl earrings. I received my parcel in a pretty black box. Loved the packaging. They had sent a personalised note and a brief about the designer and some instructions. I really liked it. It’s nice to know about what you’re wearing. Lehenga was in very good condition. It was a tulle lehenga with silk peplum top with velvet detailing over the bust. There was intricate gold and silver embroidery on the top. What I loved the most was black and white border on the dupatta. It was perfect to break the monotony. The two tone pearl earrings were going perfectly with the dupatta border. I paired my swarovski embellished shoes. Kept minimal make-up look with straight hair.
The lehenga itself had those princess vibes to it….. because of the royal colour, lovely flair, rich materials and intricate embroidery. It was perfect for celebrating anniversary in a palace. I almost went back in time to be a rajput princess. All thanks to Date the ramp!
